Anti-bacterial Coils

● Antimicrobial-coated coils incorporate specific antimicrobial agents (e.g., silver ions, zinc ions, or organic biocides) into the coating, enabling the surface to inhibit or kill microorganisms (e.g., bacteria, mold). They are widely used in environments with high hygiene requirements.

● The Antibacterial Color Coated Sheet is a high-performance building material with active antimicrobial functionality. Its surface coating is integrated with efficient antimicrobial agents, such as silver ions, which continuously inhibit and eliminate bacteria and mold attached to the panel, effectively controlling microbial growth. This product offers high cleanliness, excellent corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning. It is particularly suited for venues with stringent hygiene requirements, including hospitals, food processing plants, pharmaceutical workshops, schools, and commercial kitchens, providing lasting hygiene protection and making it an ideal choice for modern clean construction.

Substrate selection is identical to conventional coated coils, primarily depending on strength, formability, and basic corrosion resistance requirements.

Selected based on environmental corrosiveness.
e.g., GI: 90/90, 120/120; GL: 100/100, 150/150

Coating Parameters

This is the core of the antimicrobial-coated coil.

Coating System
Primer + Antimicrobial Topcoat - Most common structure.
Antimicrobial Primer + Topcoat - Provides more comprehensive protection.

Coating Thickness
Unit: μm, per side.
Conventional Requirement: ≥ 20μm - Sufficient thickness is needed to encapsulate/protect the antimicrobial agent and ensure durability.

Antimicrobial Agent Type
Inorganic Antimicrobial Agents: e.g., Silver ions, Zinc ions. Broad-spectrum, durable, heat-resistant, and safe.
Organic Antimicrobial Agents: Shorter effective period, may decompose under certain conditions.

Antimicrobial Efficacy - Core Parameters
Antimicrobial Activity Rate: Usually requires > 99% reduction against test bacteria.
Antimicrobial Spectrum: Effective range of bacteria, typically including:

Coating Appearance
Color: Customizable, but light colors make it easier to observe cleanliness.
Gloss: Matte, Satin, and Glossy are all available, with matte being more common.
Surface Texture: Smooth, Fine Texture, Orange Peel. Smooth surfaces are easier to clean and disinfect.

Performance & Durability Parameters

Antimicrobial Durability
Abrasion Resistance Test: After a specified number of abrasion cycles, the antimicrobial rate should remain > 99%.
Washability/Wiping Resistance Test: Performance should not degrade significantly after multiple cleanings or wiping with disinfectants.

Chemical Resistance
Excellent resistance to alcohol, weak acids, and alkalis to withstand routine disinfection and cleaning.

Weathering Resistance
Depends on the topcoat resin system (e.g., HDP, PVDF). The addition of antimicrobial agents may have a slight impact, but high-performance systems (e.g., PVDF) balance this well.
QUV Accelerated Weathering Test: Typically ≥ 400 hours (based on HDP system) with stable appearance and antimicrobial performance.
